AT&T Inc. (T:US): The telephone company may be undervalued amid concern its exclusive contract for Apple Inc.’s iPhone in the U.S. may expire next year, Barron’s reported, citing Sergey Dluzhevskiy, a Rye, New York-based telecom analyst at Gabelli & Co.
BB&T Corp. (BBT:US): The community bank that boasts it’s “The Best Bank in Town” may rise as much as 30 percent as the financial crisis recedes, Barron’s reported, citing Jerry Senser, co-portfolio manager of MainStay ICAP Equity in New York.
Boyd Gaming Corp. (BYD:US): Station Casinos Inc. doesn’t need an examiner to investigate how the company is handling its bankruptcy, the judge overseeing the case said today, rejecting part of the takeover strategy pursued by Boyd.
Discovery Communications Inc. (DISCA:US): The owner of the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet cable channels may gain almost 25 percent in a year as it benefits from higher earnings and increased viewership, Barron’s reported, citing an analyst.
Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. (OMEX:US): The explorer of sunken treasure bought a minority stake in SMM Project LLC, which owns mineral rights to about 150,000 square kilometers (57,915 square miles) of ocean floor in the South Pacific.
Tesoro Corp. (TSO:US): The largest refiner in the U.S. Northeast reported a hole in a pipeline in Wilmington, California, that caused a 20-barrel leak of crude oil, according to a filing with state regulators.
United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS:US): The world’s largest package-delivery company will increase ground-shipment rates in 2010 by 4.9 percent, less than this year.
Valeant Pharmaceuticals International (VRX:US): The drugmaker may fall by a third if its epilepsy drug fails to offset sliding royalties from the antiviral drug ribavirin, Barron’s reported, without citing anyone.
